Why should you give all your worries and cares to God?
Why do you think people get worried?
Why should you believe God instead of your worries?
What should l you do if you get worried about the same thing again after you have already prayed about it?
Read 1 Peter 5:7 ‘Give all your fears and worries to God, for he cares about you!Say the point together: I R.O.B fear of its power when I when I trust God instead of worrying!
Ask the children to share things they’d like to pray about. Write your prayer request so you can continue to pray for your family during the week. Pray together, give them a chance to lead the prayer if they want to. Not sure what to pray? Pray this:
GOD, THANK YOU FOR CARING ABOUT US SO MUCH THAT WE DON’T EVER NEED TO WORRY. PLEASE FILL US WITH YOUR TRUTH SO WE CAN TRUST IN YOU AND NOT IN WORRIES. IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
1. Throw you Worries to God – Write your worries to God on a piece of paper and then share your worries with each other. Write on a manila folder ‘TO GOD’. Each person places their worry inside the folder and says “I give all my worries and cares to God, for He cares for me”. Decorate the folder together.
2. Worry Game – Each person writes 3-4 worries on individual pieces of paper. Divid into two equal teams and face each other on opposite sides of the room. With tape create a dividing line. When a person says ‘go’ throw all the concerns onto the other teams side while trying to keep the other teams concerns out.The team at the end of one minute with the least concerns wins. When time is up put a bucket in the center with a sign that says ‘TO GOD’ this time you have 30 seconds to work together to give all the concern to God. The team who gives all their worries to God first wins.
3. Take-A-Verse – print out the sheet, look up the scriptures and write them out. Cut along the dotted lines and decorate. When you feel worried tear off a verse to pray and say!
Hang it on your fridge.
