God Has a Plan
“Thanks be to God for His gift that is too wonderful for words.” 2 Corinthians 9:15
1.How did Joseph feel when he first found out that Mary was pregnant and things weren’t
going as he had planned? (Not happy, worried)
2. Who did God send to show Joseph that He had a plan? (An angel) God sent an angel to tell
Joseph about His plan for this baby to change the world!
SAY: Joseph was having a hard time seeing how God could use something that was tough for him for good! But in the end, Joseph saw that God had a plan, not only for the good of his family, but for the good of the entire world!
1. What something in your life that you are finding tough right now? (answers vary)
2. How do you think God is using it for good? (answers vary)
Ask the children to share things they’d like to pray about. Write your prayer request so you can continue to pray for your family during the week. Pray together, give them a chance to lead the prayer if they want to. Not sure what to pray?
Pray this: God, you have a plan for my life. Help me to believe you plan even when I can’t see how everything will turn out.
You work all things our for my good! AMEN!

2. Colouring sheet – God Has A Plan
3.Cookie Stack– SAY: SAY: Let’s play a game called “Cookie Stack” to practice what we’ve learned today. We’re going to split up into two teams and take turns answering questions. When you answer correctly, I will give
your team a cookie. But, you’re not going to eat it yet, because when all questions have been
answered, your team will have one minute to race to build the tallest standing cookie tower. DIVIDE kids into two teams. PLACE the Cookie Stack Cards in a pile in the middle of the group. DRAW a Card and ASK one team the question on the back. When the team answers, GIVE them one cookie. ALTERNATE asking teams questions until all Cookie Stack Cards have been read. Once all questions have been asked, SAY: Now, you have one minute to come up with a plan for how to
build the tallest tower, and then you’ll have one minute to build it. If your tower falls over after
you’ve built it, your team loses. The team who has the tallest tower still standing at the end of the two minutes is the winner. ALLOW about one minute for teams to plan and another minute for teams to build. Once time is up, TELL kids to stop building and CONGRATULATE the winning team. GIVE each child a new cookie, rewarding the winning team first. SAY: You all did a great job coming up
with a plan for building your cookie tower! This game can help us remember what we’ve learned
today! Say it with me:
