1. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
While your having fun with the activities, here are some discussion questions to talk to your kids about today:
1. Why did Jesus say He was going to heaven? (To prepare a new home for us)
2. Did God give Jesus complete power over heaven AND earth? (Yes) And
what does God’s Holy Spirit give us power to do? (Tell people about Jesus)
3. Before He left, what did Jesus tell us to never forget? (He is always with us—everywhere we go) We’ve seen with our pirate eyes that Jesus has the power to be in Heaven AND to ALWAYS be with us at the same time! Only Jesus can do that!
We’ve made a discovery! Jesus Is Always With Us! Do this with me:
The Bible Says (hold out hands like book)
Jesus (point up)
Is Always (index finger draws
ACTIVITIES
- Colouring sheet – The Bible Says Jesus is Alive!
- Application Activity – “Treasure Map Board Game”
1. Lay Treasure Map Game Board in center of group and explain the game.
Kids will take turns rolling the Die & counting the number of dots that are
on top of the die when it stops rolling.
The child who rolled the die will move the Pirate Finger Puppet along the
Treasure Map Game Board path according to the number he/she rolled.
If the finger puppet lands on a Gold Coin Space, ask a question from the
Treasure Map Key.
If the finger puppet lands on a non-Gold Coin Space, choose a motion for
kids to do (Ex: clap two times if a two was rolled)
2. Play game again until all kids have had at least one turn rolling the die.
3. Once everyone has played & the finger puppet has made it to the treasure chest, give each child a Gold Candy Coin and say: Jesus told us to never forget that He is always with us! Let’s remember the special discovery we made today:
The Bible Says (hold out hands like book)
Jesus (point up)
Is Always (index finger draws circle)
With Us! (thumbs to chest) - Memory Verse – PRACTICE the Remember Verse if time & attention spans allow.
- Craft – Cross Painting
