5. Play

While your having fun playing, talk to your kids about today:

1. Did Moses go up the mountain to listen to God or feed the birds? (Listen to God)
2. God told Moses to tell the people to get ready. What was God about to give his people?
(His laws/rules)
3. When God gave the people his laws, was there sunshine and flowers or thunder and smoke?
(Thunder and smoke)
4. Did God give us ten or two commandments to follow?
God loves us and wants the best for us, so He gives us rules that help us know what to do. Let’s say this together:
The Bible
(make book with hands)
Tells Me
(cup hands around mouth)
(left palm up)
To Do!
(right palm up)

    • Colouring sheet – ‘The Bible tells me what to do’

    • Application Activity/ Monkey Moves Book
When we read the Bible we can do what it tells us to do. Lets look at the Monkey Moves Book
and do what it tells us to do. Show & read each page, and help kids respond. Continue until all pages have been read aloud, or as time allows. Then say: Just like we read and did what Mr. Monkey told us to do, when we read the Bible we can do what God tells us to do. God always tells us the BEST things to do because He loves us!
    • Monkey Face: Supplies: Writing Utensils, Paper Plate, Wiggle Eyes, Scissors, Glue Sticks, Markers, Nose, Ears, Tape, Need to Know Label.
      1. Write name on back of Paper Plate.
      2. Allow kids to decorate front of plate, to create a Paper Plate Monkey: Add wiggle eyes. Place oval nose on face. (*If using foam sheet option, assist kids in cutting oval for nose before gluing) Use markers to add dots to create nose. Tape ears to back side of plate. 3. Attach Need to Know Label to the back of Paper Plate. Read Need to Know aloud & tell child that this is what we need to know today.
      Conversation Questions:
      1. What is your monkey’s name?
      2. If you tell your monkey to do something, does the monkey do it?
      3. When we read the Bible, we learn all the things God wants us to do!
