Gather with some snacks and a small cup of water

1. Praise Party

Help your child engage. Worship to the music with your mouth and body. Have fun and enjoy Jesus together!

3. Say together

The Bible (make book with hands)
Is God’s (point up)
Word! (cup hands around mouth)

Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes (hands open wide beside eyes) so that I can see (make binoculars with hands) all the wonderful things (two thumbs up) in your teachings.” (make book with hands)

4. Pray

Dear God, thank you for giving me the Bible so that I can read your words every day! I love you! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!!

5. Play

While your having fun playing, talk to your kids about today:

1. What animal did we see on our safari today? (Zebra)
2. Did the Zebra say that ALL of the words in the Bible are God’s words, or just some of them? (All of the words in the Bible are God’s words)
3. When Jeremiah would say God’s words out loud, what did his helper do? (Write the words on a scroll)
4. Did the king stop God’s words? No

God told people, like Jeremiah and Baruch, to write down HIS WORDS! Then they took ALL of God’s words and put them into one big book that we call the Bible!
That’s why the Bible is God’s Word! Let’s say this together:
The Bible (make book with hands)
Is God’s (point up)
Word! (cup hands around mouth)

  • Colouring sheet – ‘The Bible is God’s Word!’
  • Animal Stencils- My Safari Paper, Safari Animal Stencils,
    Coloring Utensils.
Instructions: Write name on back of My Safari Paper, Add safari animals, to Safari Scene, using Safari Stencils, Add other details, as desired, using Coloring Utensils. Examples could include trees, plants, people, etc.
    Conversation Questions:
    1. What animals did you decide would be in your Safari picture?
    2. How do your animals talk?
    3. Did you know that God talks to us through His word—the Bible? He does! We will learn all about God’s words to us on our safari today!
  • Hippo Feed Game: Here’s how to feed the hungry hippopotamus with stories from the Bible:
Lay Safari Memory Cards face down. Place Hippo Feed Bag & Bird Seed Bag to the side. Take turns turning over 2 cards, trying to match story images. If child does not make a match, turn the cards back over and take a turn. If child does make a match, name/discuss the story the image is from. Work together to decide if the match can feed the Hippopotamus—Bible stories—or if it can be Bird Seed—stories not from the Bible. Allow child to place match in the correct bag.
  • Remember the verse Game: Have kids repeat each line of Remember Verse after you, with motions. Explain that this verse means we can ask God to open our eyes to all the wonderful things in the Bible! Place Animal Plates in the middle of the group. Allow each child to toss beanbag onto one of the Animal Plates. Group will say verse together, acting/sounding like animal the beanbag
    landed on.
