Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” —Matthew 28:18–20
Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. When Christians are baptised, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.

Do I need to be a member of Oasis Church?
No. Anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and wishes to publicly profess their faith can get baptized.
How can I find out more information about what it means to be baptised?
Great question! Sign up to our water baptism workshop. It goes for 40 minutes, and is a biblical teaching on being baptised, and what it means for your Christian journey.
What if my child wants to get baptised?
That’s awesome. You can sign your child up online, and connect with our Kid’s Director, Kate Guadagnuolo who will give you further direction.
What do I wear?
Bathers under shorts and a t-shirt work best! We’ll provide you with a ‘raised to life’ t-shirt on the day to wear as you are being baptised.
What else do I need to know?
As you prepare to be water baptised, we’d love you to put together a 2 minute testimony to share with the church congregation. They would love to hear the amazing things God has done in your life.
